Friday morning
The compost truck just passed
You step outside and bring the bin back in. The air is fresh.
You walk back in... and just like every time, it hits you
This place is beautiful

It's open, it breathes... light pouring down from above... you never get used to it. To the left, the kitchen

Your partner is already there. Up earlier than you, back from a run in the mountain. Classic Friday.
Sitting at the small table, finishing breakfast with coffee and La Presse+
-Good run?
-Mm-hmm... you should've come
You smile. Walk past them, heading for the coffee machine

The kitchen is efficient, well designed. Bright, uncluttered... and spacious enough to cook with a few people without getting in each other's way

You pour yourself an espresso, then make your way toward the office.
That same feeling of space and light follows you in, with a view onto the backyard.

Hard to focus today. Your mind keeps drifting to tonight. The whole family is coming to celebrate Camille

You try to work. A little. But your eyes keep wandering.
You can already picture the kids in the pool, the BBQ going... everyone you've been waiting to have over.

You get up for another coffee

-Where are the kids and cousins sleeping again?

-With the basement we have... there's more than enough room for everyone. The kids are going to love it. And honestly... we could even add two more bedrooms
-Totally.

The door opens
The younger ones run in. Can we go swimming??
The older ones head straight downstairs. We're playing pool!!!
IS THERE BEER??? Ah... your brother-in-law. Of course. Not shy.

The house shifts.
In the kitchen, things pick up. People taste before it's even ready. But even with everyone there, it flows. No one's in each other's way.

The door opens again.
-Hey! Where do we put this???
-On the island!!

From the living room, a new voice:
-Wow... this place is huge. The light... this is amazing. And that walkway upstairs... wow.
-Hey mom, hey dad... this is Julie. She's a designer.

Julie looks around. Then toward the backyard.
-Have you ever thought about adding a covered area out back... with an outdoor kitchen? This would be incredible

She adds, naturally:
-And in this neighborhood... you don't really have to worry about investing.
Properties here can go well over two million!

The evening carries on... and mattresses start appearing in the basement.

The next morning. It smells like pancakes. Breakfast stretches out. Parents arrive. Things wind down

And then... quiet.
And that's when it hits you.
